Out on Screen's new executive director from Greenpeace Canada
After several months of searching for the right candidate, Out on Screen announced on October 29 that their new executive director is Stephanie Goodwin.
Goodwin, who identifies as queer, comes to the organization after more than 10 years at Greenpeace Canada, where she most recently served as their B.C. director.
“I plan to use my decades of experience championing the rights of people and the environment to carry forward Out On Screen’s mission with the passion and commitment to high impact that the organization is already known for in the community,” Goodwin stated in a news release.
She will start in her new position on November 2.
Former executive director Drew Dennis stepped down on July 24 after 15 years in that position.
Out on Screen, now in its 27th year, presents the annual Vancouver Queer Film Festival as well as Out in Schools, which addresses bullying and LGBT issues in school.
