The vehicle of a recently deceased New Westminster resident has gone unaccounted for and police are seeking the public's assistance in locating it.

New Westminster Police Department (NWPD) announced today (October 23) that they are searching for a blue four-door 1998 Toyota Corolla with B.C. licence plate 985MSB.

It was normally parked in a rear lot behind the owner's building in the 500-block of 6^th Avenue.

The car belonged to a 57-year-old resident of New Westminster, whose cause of death remains unknown. According to NWPD Sgt. Jeff Scott, there haven't been any indications of foul play.

Investigators are trying to ensure all of the resident's items are accounted for, but his vehicle is missing.

Anyone who sees or knows the whereabouts of this vehicle is asked to call the NWPD at 604-525-5411 or 911 if the vehicle is being driven.
