CBC TV and radio journalist Gloria Macarenko will be the host of the 65 Red Roses Gala fundraiser for cystic fibrosis on Saturday (November 3).

The 18th version of the Vancouver tradition, this year at the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel, has an "enchanted forest" theme and will be cohosted by Jeremie Saunders of the Sickboy podcast.

Entertainment, a special multicourse dinner with wine pairings, live and silent auctions, and late dancing fill an evening devoted to finding a cure for cystic fibrosis, Canada's most common inherited fatal disease. Since its founding in 2001, the 65 Red Roses Gala has raised more than $4 million for CF research and patient advocacy.

You don't have to purchase a gala ticket to take part in the online silent auction, though. You can go here and take part by bidding on any of the dozens of items and packages up for bids.
