More pain is on the way for commuters in Metro Vancouver.

Talks between the union representing transit operators and maintenance workers with their employer have produced no deal.

Bargaining resumed Wednesday (November 13), but no agreement has been reached.

The union, Unifor, earlier announced that it will escalate job action Friday (November 15) if there is no deal with the Coast Mountain Bus Company.

Meanwhile, talks between the union representing SkyTrain workers and B.C. Rapid Transit Company have also bogged down.

CUPE Local 7000 has declared an impasse, BCRTC president Michel Ladrak announced on Wednesday (November 13).

“They have advised that they will be holding a meeting with their members to discuss their next steps,” Ladrak said about the union.

The Canada Line and West Coast Express are not included in the negotiations.
