It’s a ski bum or snowboarder’s dream com true: travelling the world to hit the slopes and getting paid to do it.

That pretty much sums up Ski.com’s Epic Dream Job. It entails going to seven countries on three continents for two months via United Airlines and skiing or riding more than a dozen destinations of the 65 resorts available on Vail Resort’s Epic Pass. (The Epic Pass grants holders unrestricted access to 19 mountain resorts plus additional access to 46 more, including 20 new spots for the 2018-19 season.)

The snow-loving lucky winner will also be decked out head-to-toe in Helly Hansen, Rossignol, and Oakley gear, will get to capture content with a GoPro, and will get paid US$10,000.

“We have been in the business of ski travel for 47 years and even our team of experienced, well-traveled Mountain Travel Experts haven’t been on a ski trip this epic,” Dan Sherman, chief marketing officer of Ski.com, a provider a ski vacations, said in a release. “We are excited to partner with the Epic Pass and other iconic ski and travel brands to hire an adventurer who will highlight what it’s like to literally travel around the world on a single ski trip.”

The ideal candidate must have a burning desire to travel to mountain destinations in the United States, Canada, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, France, and Japan. The winner has to be able to ski or snowboard and must love après-ski, mingling with locals, and documenting new experiences.

Here’s what you need to do to throw your helmet into the ring: submit an application video no more than 60 seconds long describing what makes you the ideal candidate before October 15.

More information is at www.ski.com/dreamjob. The winner will be announced on October 30.

In other Vail Resorts news, Whistler Blackcomb has announced its opening day of November 22. The company expects major upgrades to be complete in time for the 2018-19 season's start.

The $66-million project includes three key changes: Blackcomb’s Catskinner chairlift is going from a triple to a high-speed quad; the Emerald Express chairlift in Whistler’s Family Ski Zone is going from a quad to a high-speed six-pack; and, most significantly, a new 10-person gondola is being installed at Blackcomb, resulting in the world’s first triple-gondola connection (connecting to the Peak to Peak and the Whistler Village gondolas).

The new Blackcomb gondola will make it easier for people who just want to head up to the mountain for sight-seeing or to eat at Christine’s Restaurant, since they’ll now have a fully enclosed ride up and down the mountain.

Vail Resorts has also introduced Emma, the "Epic Mountain Assistant"; think of her as Siri for the mountain destinations. The digital assistant can answer questions in real time through SMS text.

Two-. five- and 10-day Edge cards as well as Epic passes are now on sale—with prices set to go up October 7.
