Here's the North Korean take on Dennis Rodman's bizarre trip to North Korea this week, courtesy of state TV channel KRT. It shows the former Chicago Bulls star enjoying a basketball game with Kim Jong-un, after which the happy couple retired to the palace for a banquet of sushi.

According to CNN, "Once at the palace, the theme from [tv show] Dallas was said to be constantly playing in the background," which is only marginally weirder than the fact that three Harlem Globetrotters were also there.

A splendid time was reportedly had by all, with Rodman telling the tiny dictator, "You have a friend for life." He later described Kim Jong-un to reporters as "an awesome guy."

Rodman has some previous experience with crazed despots as he was married to Carmen Elektra for a year in the '90s.

The Globetrotters were also called upon to negotiate a tense situation in 1981 when a small group of American castaways threatened to establish a breakaway republic on a small Pacific Island some three hours off the coast of California.

Rodman and the Globetrotters arrived in Pyongyang on Monday, where they were filmed for an HBO show being produced by VICE media.
