On October 21, a witness used a cellphone to record a man yelling at a 72-year-old parking enforcement officer in the 33600 block of South Fraser Way.

The man turned his anger towards the witness, making racist and threatening remarks along with swear words.

The witness contacted the Abbotsford Police Department after the man left.

After the video was posted online, it went viral.

When police obtained a copy of the video, they were able to identify the man as 47-year-old Karry Vernon Corbett of Hope, B.C.

He was charged with two counts of assault, one count of uttering threats, and one count of causing a disturbance. Although Corbett uttered racial slurs and the phrase "white power", he is not charged with a hate crime.

Corbett has a criminal record dating back to 1999, which includes convictions for assault, theft, and causing a disturbance.

He is also currently facing two charges of assault with a weapon and uttering threats in two incidents in 2015.

His girlfriend told the CBC that Corbett is planning to turn himself in today (November 1).
