For the second time in the past few months, Ku Klux Klan literature has been found distributed in Abbotsford.

The Abbotsford police department responded to a call on January 15 at 7:45 a.m. about a plastic bag with KKK literature left on the driveway at a residence in the 35200 block of Marshall Road in Abbotsford.

The pamphlet included negative comments about Martin Luther King Jr. The distribution coincides with the U.S federal holiday (January 16) marking the birthday of King Jr.

Security footage captured a suspect vehicle in the area. The vehicle appears to be a dark-coloured pickup truck, possibly a Dodge Ram.

The APD Forensic Identification Unit is examining additional security video, and fingerprint analysis is being conducted on the plastic bags.  

Similar material was distributed in Chilliwack, Mission, and Abbotsford in October.

KKK flyers were also found in Chilliwack in July.

In the wake of the election of Donald Trump as U.S. president on November 8, police across the country have been investigating discriminatory material distributed in Canada's biggest cities: in Toronto in November, in November and December in Richmond in Metro Vancouver and in Montreal in December.

A rally to protest the Abbotsford flyers is being organized by Radical Desis and the Pacific branch of the Coalition Against Bigotry to be held at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday (January 22) at the heritage Gur Sikh Temple parking lot at 33089 South Fraser Way in Abbotsford.
