Not sure what to get dad for Father's Day this year?

Treat him to a nice meal out, because there's nothing better than satiating one's appetite. Our city offers special lunch and dinner menus this Sunday (June 19) that includes everything from $1 oysters to root beer ice cream.

Here are five places to find Father's Day meals in Metro Vancouver.

The Flying Pig (various locations)

$1 oysters all day and night, with all proceeds going toward the Vancouver Firefighter Charities’ (VFC) Snacks for Kids program. The VFC partners with the Vancouver School Board to distribute snacks to children in-need at a number of Vancouver elementary schools throughout the year.

Hart House Restaurant (6664 Deer Lake Avenue, Burnaby)

An outdoor barbecue ($45) with Steel & Oak Brewing’s microbrew beer on tap, music, and bocce. Enjoy a day with dad at this fully floored marquee tent surrounded by lush green lawns—pops will even get a complimentary draft beer ticket.

Yew Seafood + Bar (791 West Georgia Street)

A delicious three-course surf ’n’ turf prix fixe menu ($85), with à la carte options available. Menu items include everything from steak tartare with pine nuts and spicy pickles to old-fashioned chocolate cake with smoked vanilla ice cream.

Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar (845 Burrard Street)

Indulge in rib-eye steak, root-beer ice cream, and more at this elegant three-course dinner ($68). Created by chef Alex Chen and his team, dinner will be served in an elegant dining room—a perfect time to gift dad that fancy tie.  

Secret Location (1 Water Street)

A three-course cookout brunch ($42) that dad can enjoy on its patio. Choices include everything from pecan wood smoked BBQ brisket to charcoal roasted lingcod. If he has a sweet tooth, be sure to order the rhubarb and cherry compote donuts served with pistachio ice cream.
