Canadian box office April 17 to 23: Zac Efron and Dédé on top

Canadians switched from screaming for Miley Cyrus to Zac Efron.

The 17 Again star heartthrobbed his way to the top of the Canadian box office.

Also new to the top 10 international films in Canada were the political  thriller State of Play at number three, the crass Crank: High Voltage at number six, and the nature documentary Earth at number eight.

On the list of top domestic films, Dédé, í  travers les brumes maintained its top spot for a sixth consecutive week.

New to the top five for the first time is Suzie, a drama from Quebec about a 58-year-old taxi driver who decides to takes a 10-year-old autistic boy under her wing.

Stone of Destiny popped back into the last spot in the top five, while two Quebec films, the mystery  Grande ourse: la clé des possibles and the Montréal massacre dramatization Polytechnique, dropped out.
