Vancouver-based Hothead Games is looking for a few good video gamers.

The developer is working on Ron Gilbert’s new game DeathSpank and needs people to play test the new game at its Yaletown studio.

DeathSpank is an action role-playing game starring a “dispenser of justice, vanquisher of evil, hero to the downtrodden” and is described as “Monkey Island meets Diablo”. It looks to be a fun and funny game that involves players exploring a world, swinging a sword, and collecting objects.

On Saturday (October 10) and Tuesday (October 13), testers will play a version of the game after which they will answer questions about the experience. For a few hours of “work”, testers will receive $50.

Hothead is looking for both PC and Xbox 360 players, but needs more of the latter.

Gamers who are 18 or older, have an interest in action RPG titles, and want to be a play tester for DeathSpank can contact Hothead Games at playtest@hotheadgames.com.

Game testers must have lots of patience, be methodical in their approach and

have a keen eye for details. They must be good communicators and have some understanding of computer hardware and software. The rise in the amount of game

testers that are needed is directly tied to the recent growth in the gaming industry.
