Mark Your Calendar: JUNO-nominated “Reflections on Crooked Walking” comes to The Firehall

Imagine you find yourself one of only four people left awake among a town of sleeping people. What put them into their forever slumber? Why were you spared? How do you work with the other three people left standing to find a cure for this mysterious sickness?

It’s the eerie, bizarre, and deeply interesting premise of JUNO-nominated Reflections on Crooked Walking, which is coming to The Firehall Arts Centre this December.

Written by Order of Canada recipient Ann Mortifee, the show—directed for the Vancouver stage by The Firehall’s own Donna Spencer—promises excitement, introspection, and entertainment fit for the whole family.

“Since announcing Reflections on Crooked Walking as part of The Firehall’s 2023-2024 season, many people have shared memories of seeing it as children or seeing it with their own children while singing snippets of songs and expressing their excitement for this new version,” says Spencer in a statement. “We have a stellar cast and I look forward to sharing Ann’s reflections on finding balance in our lives at a time when we look for hope for the future.”
