The Korean Cultural Heritage Festival takes place August 16 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Burnaby’s Swangard Stadium. The 13th annual festival organized by the Korean Cultural Heritage Society celebrates Korean arts and culture as well as the dynamics of modern Korea.

This year’s festival will launch with an opening ceremony that includes a 100-person traditional drum dance performance and a traditional king and queen marriage ceremony re-enactment.

The Korean National Tae Kwon Do demo team will showcase the sport at the festival.

During the day, attendees can enjoy tae kwon do demonstrations by the Korean National Tae Kwon Do demo team, a b-boy dance-off showcasing bread-dance skills, jultagi (tightrope walking), a performance of traditional and contemporary Korean music by the Seoul Wind Ensemble of South Korea, a food pavilion with traditional Korean wine, and family activities.

Admission to the Korean Cultural Heritage Festival is free.
