Deciem, a Canadian beauty boutique and umbrella of skincare brands, has announced that it will open its first West Coast location at 408 Howe Street tomorrow (January 31).

As previously reported by the Straight, the 800-square-foot store will stock all nine of Deciem's skin-, hair-, and body-care labels, which includes the bestselling the Ordinary line; NOID (Non-Invasive Options in Dermal Science), a range of serums, masques, and mists that help maintain skin health; and HIF (Hair is Fabric), a line of one-step cleansing conditioners designed to combat frizz, pump up volume, and more.

According to an Instagram post by Deciem founder Brandon Truaxe, the downtown-Vancouver launch will be followed by the opening of Deciem's store at Metropolis at Metrotown as well as another yet-to-be-disclosed location in the Lower Mainland. The Toronto-based company's move into Western Canada is part of a larger expansion that will see them entering cities such as Los Angeles, Amsterdam, and Hong Kong in the near future.

In a phone interview with the Straight in December, Dakota Kate Isaacs, Deciem's communications and PR manager, shared that the business's arrival in Vancouver is due to high demand it saw from the region on social media. “Sorry it took us so long,” she said. “We’re really excited to get in the market and just meet everyone there.”

Founded in 2013, Deciem is known for its affordable, science-backed products, which are produced in Canada and cruelty-free. The company operates 15 shops worldwide, including seven in Toronto.
