Japanese retailer Muji has announced that it will open its third B.C. location—and sixth Canadian outpost overall—in Richmond.

The shop will be situated at Richmond Centre and is expected to launch in April. The Georgia Straight has reached out to Muji Canada for additional information and will update this post once details become available.

Known for its streamlined, un-branded home, lifestyle, and fashion goods, Muji entered the B.C. market in August when it unveiled its first Western Canadian location at Metropolis at Metrotown. That launch followed a successful pop-up shop at the Fairmont Pacific Rim, which saw such high demand that a reservation system was set in place for visitors, at the start of 2017.

Muji opened a location at Robson Street in December. At 14,507 square feet, it is the largest Muji store outside of Asia. Founded in 1980, the company follows a pared-down, “no-brand” philosophy that has made its relatively affordable products popular with people around the world. It operates 800-plus stores internationally.
