Nordstrom plays up Parisian cool of Céline with exclusive pop-up

Céline may already occupy a space inside Vancouver’s Nordstrom, but for a limited time, shoppers can browse a fresh crop of decidedly edgier offerings from the French fashion house in a special pop-up.

Curated by Olivia Kim—Nordstrom’s vice president of creative projects, and the woman behind the department store’s crafty rotating pop-ins—the temporary boutique features a selection of sleek, vibrantly hued ready-to-wear garments, jewellery, shoes, and handbags from Céline’s fall/winter 2018 collection.

Think oversized wool separates and tailored frocks; chic cat-eye shades; minimalist sneakers, boots, and fuzzy slides; and, of course, rows of chic crossbody bags, satchels, clutches, and totes—many drenched in juicy shades like tangerine, sunshine yellow, and lavender—that embody Céline’s now-signature understated approach to the modern woman’s ’drobe.

Expect prices at the pop-up to reflect Céline’s luxury status—the five-digit tag on one buttery, patchwork leather trench seriously made us gulp—though, with its fluffy shelving, recycled-paper dividers, and pastel-coloured display blocks, the space is worth a visit to play a little dress-up. Plus, Vancouver is the only city where you can find the playful shop-in-shop. (It made its first apperance in Seattle last year.)

The Céline x Nordstrom pop-up runs until October 28 at Nordstrom Pacific Centre (799 Robson Street). Check out the images below for a peek of the boutique before you visit IRL.
