      Brides-to-be, take note: Vancouver bridal accessory shop Davie & Chiyo is holding a one-day sample sale tonight (June 2) at 606–402 West Pender Street. The sale takes place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and will feature an assortment of locally designed and handmade wedding accessories for brides and bridal parties. Expect to find sequin clutches, veils and hairpieces, bejewelled sashes, and jewellery that runs the gamut from soft and romantic to slightly off-beat—all marked up to 70 percent off. Shoppers will also be able to check out Davie & Chiyo’s new spring/summer 2016 collection, which includes rose-gold rings, lace overlay clutches, and faux-fur shawls, priced at 25 percent off.

      June 2–4: Elpidio Apparel Trading sample sale

      Elpidio Apparel Trading is hosting a sample sale from today to Saturday (June 2 to 4) at its East Vancouver office (727 East Hastings Street). The Vancouver-based company reps European brands that produce premium lifestyle apparel, which means mad savings on men’s and women’s outerwear, shoes, swimwear, and more. Among the items available will be solid-hued basics from the Monaco-based Pantone Colorwear, graphic swim trunks by Sweden’s Nikben, and minimalist, Scandinivian-inspired sneakers from the Copenhagen-based Garment Project. Sale prices range from $30 to $220—that’s more than 50 percent off on some threads—and inventory is limited, so be sure to arrive early.

      Online fashion shop Cien Boutique is taking over the Opus Hotel’s (322 Davie Street) lounge from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. this Saturday (June 4) with its curated stock of women’s apparel and accessories in tow. Shop the retailer’s fresh-out-of-the-box threads for summer, which includes breezy frocks, rompers, matching top-and-skirt sets, and wedding-appropriate wear from brands like C. Luce, Lush Clothing, and Matea Designs. You’ll also find Cien’s best-selling suede caps by Olive & Pique, as well as chokers and crystal pendant jewellery from the Melbourne-based Elle Louise. Apparel and accessories start at $20 and run to $225.

      June 4: Gymmet.ca pop-up shop 

      Vancouver-based online athleisure shop Gymmet.ca is hosting its first pop-up this Saturday (June 4) from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Yaletown’s Makeshift Spaces Ltd. (89 Smithe Street), where you can get an up-close look at the retailer’s stylish—and moisture-wicking—stock. The relatively new store carries “well-dressed” workout gear for fashion-forward ladies, and features a number of New York– and L.A.–based brands, including Alo YogaPrismsport, and Koral Activewear. Among the offerings will be python-print leggings, mesh-paneled sports bras, and Michi swimwear, starting at $65, plus dance and sport wear fit for toddlers and teens from Canada’s Jill Yoga. Gymmet.ca hopes to open a permanent retail spot in Edgemont Village later this summer.

      June 5: Vintage & Handmade Society pop-up market 

      Vancouver’s Vintage & Handmade Society is returning to Joe’s Cafe Bar (1150 Commercial Drive) from noon to 8 p.m. this Sunday (June 5) for another pop-up market. Shoppers will once again be able to nab crystal jewels and bodychains from shop organizer Kristina Cressman’s line, Unicorn Dreams, as well as other handcrafted goods from a host of local makers. Find clutches and dreamcatchers by Andee Jasper Designs, artisan body butters by Little Lotus Creations, and photography prints by Sarah England Photography, plus plenty of new and vintage clothing from Dead Union, Nauni Jay, Merman Designs, and more. Psychic Erika Black of will also be doing palm and tarot readings on-site, and selling an assortment of healing incenses, oils, and salts.
