Vancouver was voted as the best destination in the country in 2017 by millions of travellers—many who enjoyed our food and drink spots, and outdoor attractions. Vancouver International Airport was recently voted as the best airport in the world for the eighth consecutive year.
Whistler took the second spot on the coveted list. It’s not the first time that this year-round travel hot spot has been recognized for its mountain culture and appealing activities.
The third and last B.C. city to secure a ranking is Kelowna, coming in at seventh place. Travellers likely swooned over its local vineyards and beautiful views of Lake Okanagan.
The annual Travellers’ Choice award winners are determined by an algorithm that took into account the quantity and quality of reviews and ratings for hotels, restaurants, and attractions in worldwide destinations.
The information is gathered over a 12-month period, and the awards recognizes 418 destinations in 24 lists around the world.
