After 15 years of rants, shooting in locations all across the Great White North, and traumatizing Jann Arden, Rick Mercer will air the final episode of The Rick Mercer Report.

The Canadian political satirist is wrapping up his TV series after 277 episodes with an hour-long finale tonight (April 10) at 8 p.m.

The show, which debuted in January 2004, particularly became known for segments such as Rick's Rant, in which he spouted off about topical issues while marching down Toronto's Graffiti Alley.

In Season 14 of the Rick Mercer Report, Mercer visited Haida Gwaii, B.C.

His last shoot was at Holy Names Catholic High School in Winsor, Ontario, covering the Spread the Net Student Challenge. The challenge, cofounded by Mercer and Belinda Stronarch, was created to raise funds to buy bed-nets to protect African people from malaria.

After announcing the end of the show in September 2017, he appeared on CBC News Network to talk about shooting his final season.

The good news is that Mercer, who hails from St. John's, Newfoundland, is not retiring, as he stated in an interview with The National's Rosemary Barton.
