One of Canada's most famous pop stars has attracted international publicity by lacing up the skates and playing with the Whistler midget A1 Winterhawks.

At first, the players didn't recognize Justin Bieber because he was wearing a helmet.

But soon enough, word got around. And during a scrimmage on Thursday night (November 23), the Biebs scored two goals.

The man with more than 100 million Twitter followers also posed for photos afterward.

"He was very humble, he was very polite, and just excited to be there. We gave him a jersey, and he instantly put it on. He just wanted to go play," Whistler Minor Hockey Association president Steve Legge told the Whistler Pique.

It came just over a week after Selena Gomez watched Bieber play hockey in Los Angeles, which was duly noted by Vanity Fair.
