The price of a bus ticket in Metro Vancouver will rise a little next month. TransLink has announced fare increases that are scheduled to take effect on July 1, 2018.

The price of a one-zone, single-cash fare for an adult will rise 10 cents, from $2.85 to $2.95.

The same concession ticket will also rise 10 cents, from $1.80 to $1.90.

Two-zone and three-zone cash fares will similarly rise 10 cents each.

      Monthly passes will increase $2.

The price of a one-zone monthly pass for an adult, for example, will rise from $93 to $95, and the price of a three-zone monthly pass will climb from $172 to $174.

"Even with these increases, Metro Vancouver continues to have the lowest average fares of all major Canadian cities," reads a June 4 media release.

"These modest, scheduled increases are helping to fund transit investments to increase capacity, reduce overcrowding and introduce bus service in new areas."
