Surrey RCMP issued a public advisory about an investigation into an indecent act that took place near a high school in Surrey.

According to police, at about 3 p.m. on January 10, an unknown male grabbed the hoodie of a 10-year-old female, who had been walking behind Sullivan Heights Secondary School in the 6200 block of 144 Street in the South Newton area. He then threw her to the ground and exposed his genitalia.

The victim screamed and the suspect ran westbound through the school parking lot towards 144 Street.

The suspect is described as a white male, who may be a teenager or in his early 20s.

      He is about 157 to 165 centimetres (five-feet, two-inches to five-feet, five-inches) tall with a normal build.

At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black hoodie (with the hood over his head) and black pants.

Anyone with information about this incident or may have dash-cam video is asked to call Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or, to remain anonymous, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
