A senior was seriously injured yesterday when a bus struck her in Port Coquitlam.

Coquitlam RCMP stated that police received a report about a collision prior to 12:30 p.m. on March 26.

A bus had struck a pedestrian at the intersection of Shaughnessy Street and Wilson Avenue in Port Coquitlam. The 91-year-old woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

According to Coquitlam RCMP, early indications suggest that the bus had been making a turn from Shaughnessy Street on to Wilson Avenue.

Speed and impairment do not appear to be factors contributing to the collision, and the bus driver is cooperating with investigators.

Any witnesses are asked to call the Coquitlam RCMP non-emergency number at 604-945-1550.
