Russell Peters, Mayerthorpe, Tudors win at Geminis

Last night concluded the third and final industry series awards galas of the Geminis (the final televised award ceremony will take place on November 28) in Toronto.

Among the winners was Mayerthorpe, about the murder of four RCMP officers on an Alberta farm, which won best TV movie and best writing in a dramatic program or mini-series.

The Tudors won four awards, including best performance by an actress in a featured supporting role in a dramatic series (Maria Doyle Kennedy).

Pascale Hutton won best performance by an actress in a featured supporting role in a dramatic series for the locally shot Intelligence.

Comedian Russell Peters won best performance or host in a variety porgram or series for The 2008 Juno Awards.
