The Georgia Straight presents MGMT at the Commodore

Live Nation has announced that psychedelic rock group MGMT will perform at the Commodore Ballroom on Monday, May 13.

Responsible for such ubiquitous singles as "Time to Pretend", "Kids", and "Electric Feel", MGMT co-founders Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Goldwasser have been bringing weirdness and unpredictability to the music scene since the band's debut album, Oracular Spectacular, in 2008.

Listening in on the universe's stream of consciousness for inspiration, the duo is currently completing the third MGMT album due for an early summer release.

Tickets for the 19+ show are priced at $45 (plus service charges and fees) and go on sale this Friday (March 8) at 10 a.m. on the Live Nation website.

Tickets will also be available for purchase at all Ticketmaster outlets.
