Watch Stephen Harper get called a “lying scumbag” in Vancouver (video)

You probably heard about the pair of climate-change activists who posed as wait staff and disrupted a Vancouver Board of Trade event featuring Prime Minister Stephen Harper on Monday (January 6).

The protesters quietly held up signs—one of which read “Climate justice now”—on stage with Harper before being taken away by security. Harper eventually left B.C. this week without taking a single question from English-language journalists.

But footage uploaded by YouTube user DjBall shows that Harper actually did get an earful sometime during his Vancouver visit after all.

In the video, apparently shot on Monday, the videographer heckles Harper and Industry Minister James Moore outside a White Spot in Burnaby, and Conservative MP Wai Young at the Fairmont Pacific Rim in Vancouver. Among other things, the heckler calls the PM a "lying scumbag", while Moore and Young are each accused of being a "clapping seal" for Harper.

Deceivin' Stephen must get this kind of reception from working-class Canadians every day.

Thanks to the Straight for publishing this, but it would be great if the bigger outlets in the Fifth Estate would show us some of this. They used to when Lyin' Brian was in power. Today they are complicit in their silence...

It's a shame this accomplishes nothing. Harper is likely even more smug following this exchange, since he feels validated in all the shitty decisions he's made, knowing the public is powerless to do anything. Our democracy fucking sucks.

Most normal people have been all "Harper-ed out" a long time ago and don't have enough energy bars left in the game to complain anymore. This is a great energizing video clip to live vicariously through.

“Every day I watch him lie in parliament.” How many days of this did you endure DjBall until you finally had enough and decided to go out with your video camera and make a fool of yourself? Also, to be fair, you didn’t exactly tell the truth when asked if you were being facetious. Just saying;-)

I"m tired of his lies...call a election...giving away 100 of millions in the middle east and seniors are burning in retirement homes because of lack of housing.. corruption in the senate.... Canada post caught hiding 100 million + change from taxpayers, also calling Canada post a business ... its not its a corporation for the taxpayers, who hired Deepak for Canada post ?.. since he was hired they say Canada post is losing 100's of millions of dollars, Sorry but us citizens know your time as PM is ending soon
