Though you're past 60, you were like the boy at the dance, staring at me sideways without actually looking at me, standing at a distance alone hoping that I'd approach you. Thank you for leading with your heart (and other organs? And I mean that in a good way). I really needed an antidote to the big-city cynicism to which I've grown too accustomed. Thank you for reminding me what cultural "diversity" truly is when we describe this vast country of ours.

I have no idea what you said in your confession. Apparently, a senior citizen was ogling you, but you found it appealing. Somehow, you found that the ogling was, I don't know, "heartfelt?" And this made you LESS cynical about Vancouver. Then out of left-field, you mention "cultural diversity." Was it part of this man's culture to ogle women? I don't know what you mean.
