Than you or the new hire. I've been in this situation... an organisation didn't recognize my value, so I got a job where the employer did. Good Luck!

Trust me.... the experience, work ethics and a good attitude will payoff big in the long haul.
(Unless you work in an unskilled labour market with quick turnovers....then you been standing still for too long and must move on.)

Maybe you don't have as much education or experience as the other person? Or maybe you're a woman and the new hire is a man? Either way it would be justified.
