I've been making fake backgrounds for movies and TV for so long that it's all I see. It's like knowing the magicians secret, you can't enjoy the magic show.

Except I’m not the one making them, it’s my partner. Watching tv and movies has never been the same since we met. He does a running critique of the set of every show while we’re watching. Now I find myself doing the same thing.

I've always wondered if people in the Industry can enjoy film.
Do people in lighting look at the lighting in the shot? Set designers are looking at sets? People in hair, makeup and costumes checking out costumes and actors? Actors are just totally ripping apart the performance out of jealousy because they're not getting the attention they need.

Imagine dreaming to be involved in the film industry and you end up working on hallmark films.

You could always pick up a book and use your imagination... assuming you have any. The people who create movies these days generally don't.
Watching a George Cloony movie

with a friend who downloaded it: A plane crash lands but Cloony and co. escape, then for some reason Cloony looks back at the plane as they're running away. "When's the plane going to blow up?" I ask. Seconds later it does. My friend laughs and hi-fives me. Most movies are just as predictable, five minutes in I can guess the whole plot.

I have so many great ideas for hollywood, feel free to steal them confession reading hollywood execs.
(1)Vin Diesel and Henry Cavill in a movie with no dialogue but only grunting.
(2) A movie with that dollar store matt damon actor and bug-eye guy. the plot doesn't really matter.
(3) A twin peaks style comedy-horror series shot in Hell, Michigan
(4) Space Quest the 90s PC game series about a space janitor made into a movie

If you know Shakespeare and watch movies and TV shows carefully, at the very core they follow the formula of one or more of his plays. Also Aristotle's Act structure.
Once you know this, almost all movies are the same with just with different actors and stories and therefore are not worth going to. There are few original movies out there... the best of which is Pulp Fiction, for obvious reasons.
