Sip, sip, hooray: there’s a new soda launching in BC just in time for summer.

Heartberry Soda, inspired by Indigenous knowledge and the bountiful abundance of nature in this province, claims the title of Canada’s first Indigenous soda brand. Based in New Westminster and founded by Nadine Jopson, the company boasts low-sugar and low-calorie sodas in flavours like ginger, lemon, raspberry, and strawberry—that are enhanced with traditional local ingredients such as fireweed and birch bark.

To celebrate the launch, Heartberry Soda is hosting a party at Another Beer Co. (which is also celebrating its fifth anniversary the same day). The party will feature samples, limited-edition merch, DJ Kookum spinning tunes, and Indigenous food trucks on site.
