      In a second video released by IHIT, a black figure (who is believed to be the shooter) appears in the footage while walking northbound across Fraser Highway near 188th Street before running back shortly thereafter.

      The shooter is believed to have gotten into a silver sedan that left the area and headed north on 188th Street past 70th Avenue.

      Investigators are also seeking to speak with occupants of two vehicles that drove past the suspect shooter at around 6:07 p.m. on September 28 in the 18600 block of Fraser Highway in Surrey.

      One is a white SUV and the other is a white Tesla sedan.

      IHIT Sgt. Frank Jang stated in a news release that the vehicles “may be holding incredibly valuable information”, as they may have dashcam footage.

      Original article (September 30):

      Lower Mainland investigators are seeking assistance in identifying two suspects after a fatal shooting took place on Saturday night.

      Around 6 p.m. on September 28, a 29-year-old man who was seated in his vehicle at a gas station in the 18600 block of Fraser Highway in Surrey was shot to death. However, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) stated in a news release that his identity is not being released as police are attempting to notify the victim’s next of kin of his death.

      IHIT did state that the victim is known to police and the shooting is believed to be targeted.

      Around 10 p.m., RCMP received a report of a burnt silver sedan located near Willingdon Avenue and Kemp Street in the Metrotown area of Burnaby.

      After investigators spoke with several witnesses and reviewed surveillance footage from the area, they determined that a black male ran away from the site and got into a silver sedan driver by a second black male. IHIT released a video of the vehicle.

      Investigators are seeking any witnesses or video footage from:

      • the 18600 block of Fraser Highway in Surrey between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m.;
      • Willingdon Avenue and Kemp Street in Burnaby between 6:30 and 8 p.m.

      Anyone with information is asked to contact IHIT at 1-877-551-4448, or by email. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
