When a vehicle fled from officers in Whistler, a coordinated police effort led to the arrest of the suspects in Metro Vancouver.

Whistler RCMP stated on February 4 that around 1:20 p.m. on January 28, officers tried to stop a vehicle in the Marketplace Shopping Centre parking lot because it had license plates not registered to the vehicle.

However, the vehicle took off and headed south on the Sea to Sky Highway in the direction of Vancouver.

Instead of pursuing the vehicle, officers informed Squamish RCMP about the vehicle heading toward them.

Squamish RCMP spotted the vehicle as it entered Squamish and continued on “in a dangerous manner” south on Highway 99.

Officers then notified the West Vancouver Police Department and Air One, who followed the vehicle to Park Royal Mall in West Vancouver.

There, police apprehended four male suspects in their 20s from the Lower Mainland and are known to police. One of the individuals is wanted Canada-wide for forcible confinement in Ontario.
