Police are on the hunt for a pair of suspects allegedly involved in the theft of vehicles and a parcel in Metro Vancouver.
Ridge Meadows RCMP stated today (March 10) that police received a report around 12:30 p.m. on March 9 about a man, who is allegedly a suspect in the theft of a green Toyota Rav4 SUV, observed in the area of the 22700 block of Lougheed Highway in Maple Ridge.
When RCMP arrived, the suspect fled on foot. Unfortunately, after officers lost sight of the suspect, he managed to get away.
However, police identified him as the same suspect involved in a parcel theft from a home earlier this month.
Moments later, a man reported that he was washing his silver Chevrolet Silverado truck in the same area and had left his keys in the ignition when a man of a similar description as the suspect stole the truck.
Officers located the truck and attempted to stop the vehicle. However, when the suspect drove the truck in a dangerous manner, police backed off.
The Silverado was later found unoccupied in the area of 222nd Street and Selkirk Avenue in Maple Ridge.
The suspect is described as a white male who is about 175 to 180 centimetres (five-feet, nine-inches to five-feet, 11-inches) tall with a slim build.
He has curly or wavy dark brown hair and a goatee, and was wearing an olive green long coat at the time of the incident.
A shoe recovered from the suspect is described as a grey and orange Nike Air max left shoe with U.S. men’s size 11.
Police also identified a female suspect, who is allegedly an associate of the suspect.
She is described as a white female with brown hair and was wearing a black or dark-coloured coat with a fur hood.
Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to call Ridge Meadows RCMP at 604-463-6251 or to remain anonymous call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
