Attorney General Shirley Bond apologizes to NDP MLA Leonard Krog

This afternoon, a senior B.C. Liberal cabinet minister withdrew comments she made in the legislature on October 5.

"Yesterday in question period I made a comment that was incorrectly attributed to the member for Nanaimo," Attorney General Shirley Bond said. "I sincerely apologize to him and to this House and withdraw that comment."

This morning, the NDP critic for the attorney general's ministry, Leonard Krog, accused Bond of misleading the legislature by misquoting his position on cameras in the courtroom.

Bond had earlier claimed that Krog said: "The notion of cameras in the court I don't think is a bad one."

"It is irrefutable based on the transcript that I did not make this statement," Krog maintained.
