Both aspiring and well-established designers alike will be happy to know that Jonathan Adler, potter and designer extraordinaire, will be speaking at the annual Interior Design Show West (IDSwest) show at the Vancouver Convention Centre this September.

Adler, who got his start in New York City in 1993 after selling a collection of pottery to Barneys, is now the namesake of over 25 stores worldwide, selling the kind of glamorous, modern furniture and fixtures that make design hounds weak in the knees.

In addition to speaking about his philosophy of "irreverant luxury" and his progression in the industry from a pottery teacher in New York to becoming the founder of one of the world's most sought-after lifestyle brands, Adler will be showcasing his latest collection in a pop-up shop featured on the show floor. The items will include a selection of furniture and decorative accessories, and all will be available for purchase. (For those who don't mind the cross-border trip, Adler's closest store is in Seattle.)

Admission to Adler's talk, like all other speaking events, will be included in the event's ticket price. The 11th annual IDSwest will take place September 24 to 27, and advance tickets are currently available at a reduced price through the show's website. As the largest event of its kind in the western region, the show will offer visitors the opportunity to explore more than 250 exhibits.
