Live Nation has just announced that Daniel Lanois will play the Commodore Ballroom on Wednesday, July 5 in support of his latest album Goodbye to Language.

Goodbye to Language is constructed entirely from the sounds of the pedal-steel guitar, with Lanois on the pedal steel and Rocco Deluca on the lap steel. The album is about highlighting the common factors from a lifetime of influences. Or as Lanois puts it: "I operate under the banner of soul music - music that just feels right and comes from a truthful place."

Tickets for the Vancouver show go on sale to the general public this Wednesday (April 12) at 10 a.m. on the Ticketmaster website
