A shout-out to my office mate who also reads this column

Hi. You and I work in the same office, and have been colleagues for almost four years. You're a really awesome, funny, kind and intelligent person who had something really bad happen to them at home this past summer.
I've offered all of the support that is socially acceptable of me, but I know you're hurting, and that the road to feeling okay again is a really long one. You deserve to be happy, and to get through what's gone down of late.
Sometimes when I walk by you in the office, I see you reading this column, so I know you return here pretty regularly. I'm therefore taking this opportunity to tell you that you're awesome, it will get better, and that I am so proud to know you even in a work capacity. Stay the course, stay strong, and believe in yourself.

But thank you just the same. Sometimes, a person just need to hear positive words from a stranger to understand that they are going to be OK.
