If we shut out all the money launderers doesn't that make Vancouver a more desirable place to live?

Thus meaning real estate will keep rising because now we have a better quality of person living here?

... "bad guys" is just how Government distracts people while it tries a "new plan." The money coming in is coming in from the rapid industrialization of Asia. They don't pay the wages we do here, and, hey, we don't really have manufacturing jobs left, so they have more profit. Plus we have carbon rationing that seriously hamstrings our industry.

The money is coming in because people in dense, filthy Asian cities, even if rich, well, that's not a great place to live. If the Government crashes the housing price, presuming it could, that will simply mean that our new immigrant class that we're being recolonized with, primarily taken from the top ranks of foreign countries (refugees are another matter, but your avg. immigrant comes to Canada with more cash in pocket (~$25k each or so, iirc) than the poorest 1/4 of Canadian society will ever have in savings. So these are people who have "maxed out" what they can do in Asia who come here to live, start the cycle again. Maybe Dad drives a cab here instead of being a Dentist like back home, but you can bet his son will be a dentist...

It takes someone who is _really bad at math_ to think the issue in Vancouver is "money laundering" and not massive population increase due to immigration. And the minority of us who are good at math, as soon as we say "immigration might not be great, open borders might be a bad idea..." we get lectured by Humanities Majors about "racism."

So, if you want to see where Canada's immmigration policy goes for you, just look at what this same immigration policy did for Aboriginal people. In 200 years, what do you think Canada will look like? You'll at most have small reservations of European-Canadians, same as for Aboriginals, and the vast majority will be Asian immigrants.

No. The money launderers don’t live here. If we shut them out we’ll still have the same people living here. We just might have a higher occupancy rate instead of thousands of vacant homes/condos.

Stamp out crime with harsh penalties and ordinary people have improved lives.

Exactly what is a better quality of person? A cut throat Capitalist? Do you really think this new wave of Colonialism will produce winning results. More Cars, more Pollution, more Segregation and Bias, little racial mixing or cultural sharing, no infrastructure to deal with the mass population change, tapping the resources of the system people who have not spent their lives paying into. Dont speak too loudly about a better quality of people.
