To be respectful, you should use people-centric language. "White" is a racist term that isn't even factual, people who are white have light coloured skin, so the appropriate term is "people of light."

People call me white, and it doesn't offend me. After all, I look pretty white. What offends me is when they find out I'm not as white as they think I am, and suddenly I become half garbage to them, and some kind of leper to be avoided.

That's an extreme reaction, made normal by the radical progressives. Its much, much more likely that they just don't care. Outside of your tiny worlds, people don't give a shit about that stuff. Also much more likely they read another radical comment from you and ran as fast as they could the other way!

I'm part of a minority group but I agree that "white" is not a good description of the wide variety of cultures that differentiates people. For example, a lot of Jews look ordinary "white" but I think we can agree that they're a recognizable ethnic group with its own history.
