I really miss having the printed yellow pages delivered to our building. Being able to look for multiple services, their locations and hours etc simply by flipping the paper pages instead of tediously back and forth back and forth webpage by lying webpage/site was far easier and less time consuming. I could still check with the BBB if needed. Last I feel the printed yellow pages made it easier for those of us who want to shop locally.

The Yellow Pages still exist. If you go to yellow pages online and search for what you are looking for it works similar to Google. Plus if you would like to get a copy of the actual book you can request one from them (yes, they are still printing them). They simply stopped delivering them to every single door-step in the nation.

North America is a giant waste dumpster and printing millions of thick phone book's for each and every home just adds to the problem. Especially when most people don't use a phone book for anything other then a door stopper.

Embrace the technology, don't be that person who goes to the bank and holds up the line just to pay one paper bill.... (or who needs a yellow pages book)

You're pretty ignorant if you think cutting diwn trees that take decades or centuries to be ready to be used whereas hemp is ready in a few months.

The reverse directory in phone books! Now if I want to know who called me I need to pay for it.

Another recycling errand

That's how I felt when those would land at my door. Oh great, here's a big block of newsprint taking up space in either the house or the recycling box. Really though, it's so much more work than finding something online in two seconds flat, and locally - just add the location to your search. These days a lot of businesses may have even opted out of print listings to save money. Not sure I trust the yellow pages to deliver all the relevant options any more. And I'm old, really old.
