Bad Tenant

I live in an apartment building and the girl next door showers for an hour everyday from 10:00 pm to 11:00 pm. I start work at 6 am so I am in bed by 9:00 pm. My Landlord owns the entire building and said he can't do anything because she finishes her shower before 11:00 pm and the lease says she can't make noises after 11:00 pm. I contacted the Residential Tenancy Branch and they said she wasn't doing anything wrong. She is so disrespectful as well. She works from home and can shower at anytime but its always this time. She flushes the toilet at 2 am or 3 am sometimes as well and it wakes me up. I can't take it anymore

You live in a communal building. You are being ridiculous to expect that everyone in the building should keep the same hours as you. Go live somewhere else, change your mind set or get some ear plugs Karen…

You are definitely the worst type of neighbor. Heaven forbid she wakes up in the middle of the night to empty her damn bladder or explode on the toilet with diarrhea. How dare she live her life. Get earplugs dude.

I don't think we can regulate when other people shower or flush. This is not a police state.

Even if she did conduct her business within your guidelines, I suspect you'd find something else to complain about.

Who do you think you are that anyone should have to accommodate your life and schedule? Either find a new job with better hours or find someplace more isolated to live.

Perhaps ask the landlord to work on that .
Can't even flush the toilet, maybe she has irritable bowel syndrome.

Some people just don’t care about how what they’re doing in their space affects the people around them. My building has a shower person too, except they do it between 5 and 6 am and the noise is deafening. Wakes me up every time.

This female tenant has every right to shower or use the washroom whenever she wishes. Buy some earplugs and get a grip, op. You sound unhappy and you're projecting all of your frustration onto this random stranger. Buy earplugs, a small fan, a white noise machine, and accept that when you are living in close quarters like a condo or apartment building, you are going to have to accept random noises at random times. No, you don't have total control over everyone and the sooner you accept that, the better.

Are you camping in a tent? I can't imagine what kind of apartment you're in that you can hear someone shower. But you know what? It's not a bloody stereo, it's using a bathroom, and anyone can use one anytime they want.
Get earplugs, or use noise-cancelling earphones connected to an alarm. Lots of options available.
