Bells and Whistles: Casual eatery and beer hall set to open in Fraserhood next month

For those who are unfamiliar with Vancouver’s Fraser Street area—affectionately known as Fraserhood—it is slowly but steadily becoming the next trendy food hub in the city.

Joining the neighbourhood’s culinary roster next month is Bells and Whistles (3296 Fraser Street), which is the latest restaurant venture for Gooseneck Hospitality (Wildebeest, Bufala, Lucky Taco).

The 3,000-square-foot space is the brainchild of restaurateurs James Iranzad, Josh Pape, and co-partner and long-time Gooseneck employee Nick Miller.

The lunch, dinner, and late-night drinks spot can accommodate 150 guests. It features a dining room, wrap-around heated outdoor patio, big screens to watch sports, and a games room that will offer arcade favourites such as Skee-ball, hoops, and foosball tables.

Executive chef Alessandro Vianello of Wildebeest will be designing the menu concept, using locally and ethically sourced ingredients. The no-fuss dining establishment will focus on casual fare, offering items like burgers, tacos, fresh salads, chili-and-garlic fries, and soft-serve ice cream.

It will also boast a full bar stocked with libations including a rotating selection of craft and import beers, ciders, cocktails, and wine—all on tap. Expect unique creations like imperial stout floats and citrus-forward IPA soft-serve beer pairings.

“Our mission is to bring a restaurant that is anything but ordinary to the Fraserhood,” said Miller in a press statement. “We’ve gone to great lengths to design an out-of-the-box, approachable space, and we’re excited to introduce a whole new concept not only to the area, but to Vancouver as a whole.”

Bells and Whistles is scheduled to open its doors in September.
