After nearly a decade, celebrated Indian chef Vikram Vij’s Surrey restaurant My Shanti has announced its closure.

“Vikram would like to thank everyone who has supported us over the past decade,” the restaurant wrote in a statement. 

Serving up delicious favourites like chicken korma and butter chicken as well as fun twists like Bombay smashed potatoes and green jackfruit in coconut milk, My Shanti had become a staple of the Surrey culinary community, and it will no doubt be missed.

An exact closing date has yet to be announced, but the restaurant anticipates closing sometime in November. Which means those who want to say a tasty goodbye to My Shanti should head there ASAP. And don’t worry: you can still get your fix at the famed Vij’s on South Granville.
