Police are investigating the suspicious death of a woman in Strathcona near Chinatown.

The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) stated in a news release today (October 18) that on October 16, a maintenance worker found 60-year-old Maggie Nelson dead in her apartment at a building located near Keefer Street and Gore Avenue.

According to the VPD, the death appeared to be suspicious and today investigators ruled it a homicide.

There haven’t been any arrests made yet. However, the VPD added that investigators don’t believe there is any risk to the general public.
