Nashville-based Michael Ray has been announced as the headliner for Red Truck Beer’s Country Jam showcase on August 11.

Joining the Billboard chart-topper, noted for hits like “Think a Little Less” and "Kiss You in the Morning", will be Calgary-born Wes Mack, Cowtown quartet Nice Horse, and hometown heroes Rollin’ Trainwreck.

The Country Jam showcase is part of the East Vancouver brewery’s 2018 Truck Stop Concert Series, which includes previously announced headliners Coleman Hell (June 16) and Allen Stone (July 14).

Each of the three concerts is loosely based around a genre.

Hell’s June showcase will blend roots rock and ethereal pop, with support that includes Seattle DIY darlings Pickwick, 2017 Truck Stop Concert Series winner Sam the Astronaut, Victoria’s Jesse Roper, and Vancouver’s Aviator Shades.

Soul is the main flavour of Stone’s July 14 show, which will also feature retro R&B vet Nick Waterhouse, Antonio Larosa, the Eleven Twelves, the Elwins, and Atlameda.

For August's Country Jam, Ray will be supporting his sophomore album Amos, the release a follow-up to his eponymous top five debut. "Get To You", a single off the upcoming full-length, has already racked up over 300,000 views since it was released in late April.

Last seen in Vancouver opening for Shania Twain at Rogers Arena, Mack has racked up eight Canadian Country Music Association award nominations and a bushel of top 10 hits since debuting a half decade ago.

Nice Horse adds further fuel to the argument that Albert’s is Canada’s country-music capital, while the bluegrass-flavoured Rollin’ Thunder took home top prize in the Truck Stop Talent Search contest this past April.

More Country Jam acts will be added in the coming weeks.
