Nickelback fans will have to wait a while to hear the rumbling, testosterone-infused voice of frontman Chad Kroeger.

That's because Kroeger is on "an extended period of vocal rest" after undergoing surgery for an intracordal cyst.

It will take up to eight months for him to recuperate, according to a news release issued by the band.

Nickelback has cancelled the European leg of its No Fixed Adress tour. It included 34 shows from September 30 to December 7.

Fans have been guaranteed full refunds.

“Most of all, we are sorry to miss our fans out on the road this fall, but Chad’s health, healing and full recovery are what is most important right now," the band stated. " With the proper amount of time, we hope to have him back stronger and better than ever before. We thank everyone for their support and understanding during this time and look forward to getting back out on the road and playing music for everyone again real soon.”
