"Mr. Tinker" of Tinkers Hatch Bakery (4894 MacKenzie Street) says that of course they're baking loaves of green bread ($3) in honour of St. Patrick's Day, adding that instead of the usual soft pastel, "This year's is an 'in-your-face' green." He adds that the bakery's chocolate-dipped, shamrock-shaped shortbread cookies ($1.25 each) are "expensive and really bad for you". I think they'd be excellent dipped in Irish coffee.
