V-ailin-tines day
posted February 14th, 2019 at 7:45 PM
Following NY resolutions, decided to try a new workout studio. Two days ago discovered their workout equipment left me with ringworm (fungal infection) around my ribs and waist. Am now spending Valentine’s Day washing my clothes in bleach and slathering on antifungal cream.
So for anyone who’s sad to be single today, please be grateful at least you’re not a walking mushroom factory.

Happened to me. So I bought some weights, and a home gym that folds up and goes under my bed. Paid for themselves in no time, and I don't have to drive, park, listen to other people etc.
This is why I wipe everything

At the gym before use with disinfectant wipes. Weights, barbells, spin bike handles, machine equipment. Think of all the people who use the equipment on a weekly basis, dropping in sweat.
Gross!

I also work out at home. So much better. Your body is a gym in itself.

Ah, V-day.
The commercial romantic holiday of delusion, confusion and self-doubt (or self-hatred, as may be). Don't let it get to you. Any resemblance to actual human relationships is purely coincidental. Those actually happen all year, for one thing.
If someone treasures you as a partner, ringworm won't change that. And if no one does then no worries - it'll go away soon enough.

Add tea tree oil along with the antifungal cream it will go away faster....I got it on my leg and freaked out, I was grossed out actually, got a perscription and my friend who’s a pharmacist told me to use both together...

That's brilliant, actually. Tea tree is my go-to antiseptic, and anti-everything.
The sharp smell doesn't bother me because used to it, but may be a bit much for some.
The oil can be diluted (briefly, it doesn't stay mixed) and still be useful.
One caveat - it's highly toxic to dogs.
