I feel like an idiot for compromising and letting myself be manipulated in order to get into someone's bed. The sex ended up being mediocre and just another control trip for them.

Worst sex of my life and I will never get those 10 minutes back, let alone the weeks of build up. Never. Again.
What does this even mean?

What’s even in it for them then? Who gets off on that. Maybe they actually wanted to have sex with you. A shame it sucked, tho.

The ex-girlfriend nearly ruined sex for me. All she wanted was a baby daddy to push her own agenda. Horrible people.

She does sound horrible. Here's a fun fact, a study published in a recent issue of PLOS Genetics indicates that chimps and bonobos are equally related to the common ancestor they share with humans. While chimps adapted to varied environments, bonobos stayed put in forests and remained in the same environment where they evolved. Their genetic codes have undergone fewer changes than those of chimps. This means that bonobos could be more closely related to humans than chimpanzees are - which might change the current cultural narrative a bit. Perhaps our heritage is not inventive and vicious violence, but cooperative groups working to ensure the SURVIVAL OF ALL.
