Instead of going to your regular eatery/pub/etc and sitting there with your arms closed and with RBF- visually telling every guy to F off- why not smile, open up, and go say hi to a guy that catches your eye.
Don't just sit there and glance at his for half a second, every 5 minutes and think that is flirting-actually get up and go over.

Guarantee he'll be shocked, as it never happens to 95% of the guys...oh wait a sec I think I found the problem....

A while ago, there is about 250,000 single men in the Greater Vancouver area- so if you're going 200 kms away that's all I really need to say.
